After School Care

About Us

Highbury House After School Care began in July 1990 under the umbrella of Highbury Community House Inc.; we share the St Aidans Church community hall with other groups. Up to 30 children each day, from Northcote and St Marys Primary schools, are offered an after school programme during the school term.
Our staff arranges to collect the children from a “meeting place” at school and walk them safely to After School Care. We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and fun programme, enjoyable for each and every one of the children.

What We Do

Afternoon tea is provided each day as soon as the children arrive from school. Fruit, bread and choice of spreads, and a biscuit are offered. There is also often something special like a scone or crumpet, or cheese and crackers, and Milo on a cold day.
Children are encouraged to take part in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in a warm and co-operative environment. We offer loads of quality toys and board games, and also sports equipment for outdoor play. An art and craft activity is supplied each day or the children can choose what they would like to do. Homework can be supervised if required. At least once a term we do our best to have a special visitor or a “treat” activity.
